Ferat Öztürk, Head of Passive Sales Digital Distribution EMEA, is now responsible for the digital distribution of Xtrackers ETFs across Europe. Until now, the 39-year-old Öztürk was only responsible for this business in Germany.
The importance of ETF distribution via digital channels such as online brokers, robo-advisors and fund platforms has increased considerably in recent years. For example, the number of ETF savings plans subscribed through online retail banks in Germany tripled to 3.6 million between the end of 2019 and October 2022 (source: ExtraETF). In Germany, DWS has already concluded cooperations with twelve different digital platforms, thus occupying a leading position in this market.
DWS expects ETF sales via digital platforms to gain in importance across Europe and wants to build on the experience gained in Germany to grow more strongly on the continent.
“Investors appreciate being able to invest in ETFs quickly and efficiently via smartphone, tablet or PC, while receiving all relevant information to make investment decisions. This is a trend across Europe and DWS is very well positioned to position Xtrackers ETFs here”.
