Natixis Investment Managers has announced the launch of WCM Global Emerging Markets Equity Fund run by filial US fund company WCM Investment Management.
The fund is managed by the WCM Emerging Markets five-strong team which includes Mike Trigg, Pete Hunkel, Sanjay Yesterday, Mike Tian and Greg Ise. They all are portfolio managers and business analysts.
The Luxembourg domiciled-fund is open to both institutional and retail investors in Europe. The investment team follows a bottom-up approach and seeks to identify companies with attractive fundamentals, such a low or no debt, rising returns on invested capital, and reasonably predictable free cash flow generation. The team focuses on assessing the trajectory of a company’s competitive advantage (“economic moat”) and the alignment of its corporate culture with this economic moat.
From the equity emerging markets investment team; Sanjay Ayer and Mike Trigg are the longest-serving portfolio managers at the firm.
Mike Trigg joined WCM in 2006; his primary responsibilities are portfolio management and equity research for our global, fundamental growth strategies. Since he began his investment career in 2000, Mike’s experience includes a position as Equity Analyst at Morningstar, Inc. in Chicago where, in addition to general equity analysis, he managed their Model Growth Portfolio. Earlier, Mike held a position as Analyst at the Motley Fool, an online investment service. He earned his B.S. in Finance from Saint Louis University (Missouri), where he graduated with honors.
Sanjay Ayer joined WCM in 2007; his primary responsibilities are portfolio management and equity research for global, fundamental growth strategies. Sanjay’s experience includes a position as Equity Analyst at Morningstar, Inc. in Chicago, where he covered the gaming, cruise, and online travel industries, and an earlier position at J. & W. Seligman & Co. in New York as a performance analyst. Sanjay graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Johns Hopkins University (Maryland) with a B.A. in Economics and B.S. in Applied Mathematics.
In July 2018 Natixis acquired a 24.9% stake in WCM Investment Management (WCM) and became their exclusive third-party distributor. The agreement established a long-term partnership that will allow Natixis to distribute WCM’s investment strategies globally, allowing WCM to focus on investing while upholding its focus on its culture and investment process. Based in Laguna Beach, California; WCM is an independent company and has got $ 42.6 billion under management.
