Changes at the helm of Allianz GI’s fixed income team
Allianz GI has announced the appointment of Michael Krautzberger as the new Global CIO of Fixed Income. Krautzberger will join in August and will replace Franck Dixmier, who will leave Allianz GI to undertake new projects after almost 30 years of dedication to the firm and its clients.
As Global CIO of Fixed Income, Krautzberger will report to Deborah Zurkow and will be part of the AllianzGI Investment Executive Committee, as well as its International Management Group. He will also oversee the management of 171,000 million euros of fixed income assets on behalf of clients around the world.
Professional career
Krautzberger joins Allianz Global Investors from BlackRock, where he worked for 19 years, and where he held the position of Head of Fundamental Fixed Income for EMEA since 2018. Previously, he served as investment director and member of the executive board of BlackRock Asset Management Deutschland AG. Before joining Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in 2005 (merged with BlackRock in 2006), Krautzberger was responsible for European Fixed Income at Union Investment, and previously worked five years at DWS.
Krautzberger will succeed Franck Dixmier, who has been part of Allianz Global Investors since 1996. Dixmier was appointed first Global Director of Fixed Income of Allianz GI in 2015 and first Global CIO of Fixed Income in 2020, after creating a global investment committee and a unified process for this asset class.
