Pictet AM has expanded its thematic investment range with the launch of Pictet-ReGeneration, a global equity fund that invests in companies that support the transition to a regenerative economy. Pictet-ReGeneration is a Luxembourg domiciled UCITS fund.
Overexploitation of the planet’s natural resources is one of the main causes of the rapid loss of biodiversity.
Pictet-ReGeneration targets companies that are helping to reduce and create more sustainable consumption of natural resources. This includes repurposing products or extending their useful lives, providing services to develop a more circular economy and producing more renewable resources. The fund will also allocate capital towards companies facilitating greater social and economic inclusion, empowering more people to be part of the transition to a regenerative economy. In addition to targeting an attractive return, the team will engage with companies to encourage more sustainable business models and practices.
The management team includes Viktoras Kulionis, environmental economist and Claire Chamberlin, from Geneva.
An Article 9 fund under EU Non-Financial Reporting Directive, Pictet-ReGeneration builds on more than 20 years track record in sustainable investing and experience applying the Planetary Boundaries framework.
“The trend towards a regenerative economy is unstoppable and the companies that contribute most to this transition will benefit from higher growth over time. Investors have an important role to play in supporting companies that facilitate ecosystem regeneration and more resilient societies.”
