Pictet AM announced today the launch of Pictet-EUR Income Opportunities, a new fixed income strategy aimed at European investors who require a reliable source of income with limited exposure to interest rate fluctuations.
Pictet-EUR Income Opportunities is managed by Jon Mawby and Charles-Antoine Bory. For its fundamental analysis, it has a team of credit analysts, as well as the Pictet AM fixed income team, composed of more than 120 investment professionals.
The new strategy is a comprehensive solution, whose capital allocation aims to maximize income in relation to the risk assumed. At least 75% of the assets will be invested in investment grade and high yield corporate debt from European companies, reflecting long-term conviction, for a better risk/return ratio than sovereign debt. However, it has the capacity to invest in sovereign bonds and money market instruments, which allows reducing volatility in times of market stress.
It only invests in bonds denominated in euros, without currency risk. Domiciled in Luxembourg under UCITS regulations, with daily valuation and liquidity.
For more than ten years, central banks have suppressed bond yields through ultra-accommodative monetary policy. With the normalization of this policy, fixed income becomes a basic component in investors' portfolios that provides reliable income and provides diversification. However, uncertainty regarding the evolution of interest rates means that investing in this asset class requires specialized knowledge to manage volatility. At Pictet AM, we have our own experts to offer this type of solution to investors.
