Artemis announces the launch of a new SICAV¹ domiciled in Luxembourg dedicated to European equity markets. The Artemis Funds (Lux) – SmartGARP® Pan-European Equity Fund extends the success of the SmartGARP strategies already active in Europe and the UK, applying the proprietary equity screening model SmartGARP to the investment process.
Toby Gibb, Head of Investments, explains: “This new fund offers European clients a Pan-European version of the SmartGARP strategy, which has already recorded excellent performance². Our systematic approach has consistently generated alpha”.
Philip Wolstencroft, creator of SmartGARP, adds: “We identify undervalued companies but with above-average growth and analyze the impact of news on prices, so as to anticipate opportunities and risks”.
The fund will be managed by the SmartGARP team – Wolstencroft, Raheel Altaf, Aalok Sathe and Harry Eastwood – who currently oversee more than 5.4 billion pounds³, including the Artemis SmartGARP European and UK Equity Fund.
The new strategy enters the Artemis SICAV range, already composed of funds on British, American, emerging and high yield bonds. It will be available for retail, institutional and professional investors throughout Europe, with the euro as the reference currency.
The fund aims for capital growth in five years, with a higher exposure to the UK compared to the SmartGARP European Equity Fund. The benchmark will be the MSCI Europe (22.4% UK⁴). The fees of the Class I will be 0.87%, while the founding classes will offer a reduced fee of 0.50% until reaching 100 million pounds managed.
