BlackRock has expanded its iBonds range of fixed income ETFs with the launch of four new offerings. These include the iShares iBonds Dec 2027 Term $ Treasury UCITS ETF, the iShares iBonds Dec 2029 Term $ Treasury UCITS ETF, the iShares iBonds Dec 2026 Term Italy Govt Bond UCITS ETF, and the iShares iBonds Dec 2028 Term Italy Govt Bond UCITS ETF. This marks BlackRock's first venture into offering iShares iBonds linked to European government debt.

iBonds are designed to behave similarly to bonds, with defined maturity dates. They hold a diversified portfolio of bonds with similar maturity dates and provide cost-efficient access to the fixed income market while offering the benefits of ETF diversification, transparency, and liquidity.

The new launches expand investors' options by providing access to US Treasury maturities in December 2027 and 2029, as well as Italian government bonds maturing in 2026 and 2028. BlackRock highlights the appeal of Italian government debt, currently offering the highest yields in the eurozone.

With over 13 years of experience in managing iBonds and fixed-term ETFs, BlackRock aims to replicate its success in the US market. In the EMEA region, iBonds UCITS ETFs have garnered significant traction since August 2023, raising over $3 billion across nine products with various maturities.

These iBonds ETFs offer investors flexibility across currencies, maturities, and countries, allowing them to complement existing investment vehicles and build scalable and diversified bond ladders. With just a few ETFs, investors can create bond ladders, staggering final payments and reinvesting in subsequent consecutive maturities, simplifying portfolio management.
