BNP Paribas AM appoints Alaa Bushehri as head of emerging debt

BNP Paribas AM has announced today the appointment of Alaa Bushehri as the new director of emerging debt, effective from March 1, 2024. Alaa will be based in London and will report to Olivier de Larouzière, global director of fixed income.

Alla has spent twenty years at BNP Paribas Group. For the last eleven years, she has been part of the emerging debt team as director of emerging corporate debt, where she was responsible for alpha generation decisions in the field of dollar-denominated and local currency emerging corporate debt. In 2007, Alaa joined FFTW as an analyst, coming from BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking in Bahrain.

Alaa holds a degree in Finance from Drake University and an MBA from Imperial College London.

Thanks to her extensive knowledge of the business and her long career in the emerging debt team, Alaa is perfectly prepared to continue driving our emerging debt platform, which includes fixed income investment teams from different emerging regions (Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, and Turkey). I am convinced that Alaa will continue to integrate the exchange of knowledge at a national and international level through our platform and strengthening our processes and our investment philosophy.
