Capital Group launches three global and multi-thematic sustainable funds

Capital Group announced today the launch of three global and multi-thematic sustainable funds designed to meet the demand of investors from Europe and Asia. The funds are classified under Article 8 according to the EU Regulation on sustainable financial information disclosure (SFDR).

The Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS funds include a global equity vehicle, Capital Group Sustainable Global Opportunities Fund (LUX), a fixed income one, Capital Group Sustainable Global Corporate Bond Fund (LUX), and a mixed one, Capital Group Sustainable Global Balanced Fund (LUX).

In creating their sustainable funds, the firm identified seven sustainable investment themes related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) that cover a broad universe of companies that can offer attractive long-term investment opportunities. By investing in various sustainable themes, investors can access a wide range of investment opportunities and potentially take advantage of diversification. Capital Group's sustainable investment approach takes into account companies that, in their opinion, are already aligned with the UN SDGs, as well as those that are transitioning to increase their positive long-term alignment.

The United Nations estimates that there is an annual funding shortfall of $4.3 trillion to achieve the SDGs. We believe that many innovative companies will be needed to bridge this gap. Those companies that make improvements in important areas such as "financial inclusion", "energy transition" or "health and well-being", will play a significant role in the world's transition to a more sustainable future and can offer attractive long-term opportunities for investors.
