Carmignac launches its first private equity strategy

Carmignac has presented its first private markets strategy, marking the landing of the French manager in private asset management.
This is the latest achievement by the firm in its trajectory through private markets and comes after a series of initiatives carried out from its own balance sheet. Among the most recent, becoming a reference investor in the firm specialized in secondary markets, Clipway, announced in October 2023.
The launch represents a significant milestone in the expansion of the firm's investment offering, which incorporates a complementary private equity product to its range of listed funds. The move is part of Carmignac's strategy to offer investors the best of active and alternative management through differentiated products with notable diversification advantages.
The management of the strategy is done through a experienced team of four specialists led by Edouard Boscher, who joined the firm in October 2023 as head of private equity. Together, the team members have nearly 70 years of experience and have worked in several reference companies.
In addition to providing their own exhaustive analysis of operations, Carmignac's private equity team will leverage the firm's operational excellence, integrating their knowledge of the listed market into private markets. This includes disciplined risk and liquidity management, as well as reports from sector analysts and the sustainable investment team. In combination with the unique advantages generated by the strategic partnership with Clipway, the result is a high-quality “turnkey” private equity solution normally reserved for institutional investors. The strategy was implemented by Carmignac, in line with the commitment to maintain a strong alignment of interests with clients.
