The winners of this edition were chosen by the specialized research team of MainStreet Partners, using the proprietary three-pillar methodology. This methodology distinguishes the funds and asset managers that have stood out within a broad universe of over 9,500 strategies managed by more than 460 asset managers present on the ESGeverything.com platform.
Unlike many traditional ESG ratings, which focus only on portfolio positions or the name of a strategy, MainStreet Partners' rating system is based on a holistic analysis, evaluating not only the asset management company as a whole, but also the strategy pursued by the fund and the individual portfolio positions.
MainStreet Partners' advanced methodology is enriched by over 80 factors that contribute to the evaluation of the three pillars, with specific weights for each factor and a bonus/malus structure that highlights particularly relevant aspects. In addition, the evaluation includes two distinct regulatory evaluations, which ensure an even more in-depth and rigorous analysis.
At the beginning of the year, one might have thought that 2024 would bring less regulatory complexity than 2023. Unfortunately, this was not the case, especially with the introduction of fund name rules on both sides of the Atlantic. Regulatory attention continues to intensify, with the risk of fines for non-compliance and the resulting reputational damage.
