Goldman Sachs AM has announced the launch of the Goldman Sachs MSCI World Private Equity Return Tracker UCITS ETF (GSPE), designed to offer investment results that closely correspond, before fees and expenses, to the performance of the MSCI World Private Equity Return Tracker index.
The fund seeks to provide net exposure to returns similar to those of private equity using listed shares, combining the private company database and MSCI index capabilities with Goldman Sachs' expertise in liquid alternative assets.
The GSPE is a passive ETF managed by the Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, a specialized group that employs advanced quantitative methods and has over 35 years of experience in systematic investment in liquid alternative strategies.
The benchmark index, MSCI World Private Equity Return Tracker, seeks to approximate the returns of the private company universe by replicating exposures by region, sector, and style through a portfolio of publicly traded shares. The strategy relies on the MSCI Private Capital Universe dataset, which represents $7.7 trillion in private equity fund assets across more than 9,700 funds and approximately 174,000 companies, as of June 30.
The ETF is currently listed on the Deutsche Boerse and will soon be on other exchanges. The total expense ratio of the Goldman Sachs MSCI World Private Equity Return Tracker UCITS ETF is 0.50%.
With this launch, Goldman Sachs Asset Management underscores its commitment to expanding investors' access to differentiated investment strategies and adds this product to a catalog of 69 ETF strategies worldwide.
We continue to see strong demand from our European client base for solutions that offer diversification benefits across the liquidity spectrum. With the launch of the GSPE in Europe, we can now offer investors exposure to returns similar to those of the private market in a liquid and transparent structure, leveraging MSCI's strong expertise in index construction.
