International Asset Management (IAM) has announced the expansion of its UCITS platform with the launch of the Riposte Global Opportunity UCITS Fund. This new offering replicates the global long/short equity strategy of Riposte Capital's existing offshore fund, bringing it under the UCITS regulatory framework.
The Riposte Global Opportunity UCITS Fund will adhere to a fundamental, thematic, and valuation-based approach to stock selection, similar to its offshore counterpart. Historically, this strategy has focused on US mid-cap companies. Riposte Capital, founded in 2013 by Khaled Beydoun, former CEO of Credit Agricole Cheuvreux North America, leverages a broad network of private market collaborations to generate innovative investment ideas. The fund aims to maintain a high conviction portfolio with low net market exposure, providing robust downside protection.
'Current thematic trends, including the changing landscape of US power generation in response to the demands of increased electrification and AI industries, are providing an exciting opportunity set for the strategy,' the firm stated. This focus on emerging trends is designed to capture significant investment opportunities while mitigating risks.
Mirko Butti, co-head of IAM Investments' UCITS platform and managing partner, highlighted the strategic importance of the new fund:
The Riposte Global Opportunity UCITS Fund is an excellent addition to IAM Investments' growing UCITS Platform. We continue to look for such high-quality and differentiated managers to diversify our alternative UCITS offering and provide solutions for all types of conditions to our clients in Europe and beyond.
This launch marks the second fund added to IAM Investments' UCITS platform in 2024. It follows the successful debut of the Landseer European Smaller Companies Long/Short Equity UCITS Fund in February. The addition of the Riposte Global Opportunity UCITS Fund underscores IAM's commitment to expanding its diverse range of alternative investment solutions for its European clientele.
The introduction of the Riposte Global Opportunity UCITS Fund on IAM's platform represents a significant step in broadening the firm's investment offerings. By replicating Riposte Capital's proven long/short equity strategy within a UCITS framework, IAM aims to provide its clients with access to a high-conviction, low-net market exposure fund that is well-positioned to capitalize on current and emerging market trends.
