Inês Castro, head of fund selection at Millennium BCP’s wealth management department, has announced her retirement. After nearly 25 years in the industry, including the last 12 years where she worked on investments funds, Inês Castro retires.
Before being appointed as Millennium BCP fund selection head, she was head of the treasury department at Bank Millennium in Poland from 2009-2012 and before that was a fixed income proprietary trader managing a government bond, swaps and derivatives portfolio. Since 2012, Inês Castro headed the fund selection team for discretionary portfolios, private banking and retail clients in Lisbon. The team she headed, selects and monitors about 70 funds used by retail and advisory clients in Portugal and Switzerland.
Yesterday, May the 1st was her last day at Millenium BCP, Castro confirmed her retirement with an email stating that she was leaving 'with a heart filled with mixed emotions’.
It has not been confirmed who will replace Castro, however, Castro says she is leaving the 'best team in the market' including Filipa Almeida on equity funds, Guilherme Cardoso on alternatives, Diogo Verde on fixed income funds and José Rodrigues on fund information and reporting.
As I embark on this new journey called retirement, I am filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead. While I will miss the hustle and bustle of working life, I am eager to embrace this opportunity to slow down, spend more time with loved ones, enjoy time and pursue passions that have taken a backseat during my career.
As I begin this new chapter of my life, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each of you for your support, friendship and dedication over the years. It has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside you.
Wishing you all continued success, happiness, and fulfilment in your future endeavours.
