La Financière de l'Échiquier (LFDE), a French fund manager belonging to the LBP AM, has announced the integration of Tocqueville Finance, LBP AM's asset management subsidiary. LFDE becomes one of Europe's leading conviction fund managers, now managing more than EUR 27 billion in assets and increasing its management team to a total of 55 managers and analysts. With this operation, LFDE's range of equity and credit products is enriched with new competencies in terms of styles, themes and geographies.
The “new LFDE” will offer all its clients an extended range of strategies with access to LBP AM's expertise, dedicated solutions for listed assets (smart beta equities, multi-assets, credit and convertibles) and real and private assets (debt - infrastructure, corporate and real estate - and private equity) and styles in addition to the robust European and global equities range that has been the hallmark of the fund manager until now.
As part of the integration, Michel Saugné, until now Managing Director and CEO of Tocqueville Finance, becomes Co-CIO of LFDE, alongside Olivier de Berranger, and joins the Executive Committee of the entity.
In addition, in line with its pioneering commitment to sustainable finance, and in order to be able to offer tailor-made ESG approaches, LFDE will now be able to draw on complementary methodological expertise, as well as on the power of the tools developed by LBP AM.
This is a key moment for LFDE's development, which will allow us to conquer new market shares and raise the profile of the group that LFDE and Tocqueville Finance now represent. It is a great challenge to be able to offer our investors a wide range of strategies and management styles with a very clear objective: to generate consistent returns through the selection of quality companies".
The entity maintains the agility of a small structure to develop solutions adapted to each type of investor, in addition to reinforcing our commitment to sustainable finance by consolidating our position as a global provider of equity investment solutions with an SRI approach
Iván Díez Sainz, LFDE's Country Head for Iberia and Latin America
We are delighted to be continuing to write the history of LFDE with seasoned management teams offering complementary expertise and substantial resources. Tocqueville Finance, whose upward trajectory in recent years reflects its dynamism, will be a key asset in the development of the 'New LFDE'.
Olivier de Berranger, CEO and Co-CIO of LFDE
