Janus Henderson has announced the availability for investors in the EMEA region of two private credit strategies from Victory Park Capital (VPC), a global manager acquired by the firm in October 2024.
The offering includes the asset-backed opportunistic credit strategy and the legal credit strategy, with which the entity expands its range of solutions in private markets.
The asset-backed opportunistic credit strategy is designed to provide access to a diversified portfolio of senior secured loans and asset-backed loans. According to the information provided by the entity, these investments are supported by resilient and short-duration collateral linked to segments such as receivables-based financing, physical assets, and intellectual property assets.
On the other hand, the legal credit strategy, considered a subsector within VPC's asset-backed financing strategy, provides access to a portfolio of preferentially secured loans also backed by assets and focused on the legal sector. The financing is articulated through highly structured recourse loans, backed by diversified portfolios of legal receivables, in addition to having the support of insurance features and credit enhancements.
Victory Park Capital, founded in 2007 and based in Chicago, specializes in asset-backed financing. The firm invests in a wide variety of industries, geographies, and sectors, including receivables-based financing, physical assets, and intellectual property assets.
In addition to these capabilities, VPC also has experience in legal credit and in the search and management of custom investments for insurance companies. Since its inception, the manager has invested more than 11.6 billion dollars in more than 240 operations, according to data released by the firm.
EMEA investors are increasing their allocations to private markets in their search for income, diversification and strategies that can maintain their resilience throughout different market cycles. By offering access to VPC's specialized capabilities in asset-backed credit and legal credit, we are directly responding to the growing demand we see from clients for innovative and differentiated private credit solutions, backed by an investment team with extensive experience.
Ignacio De La Maza, director of the EMEA and Latin America Client Group at Janus Henderson
Asset-backed financing is a differentiated segment within private credit, as it offers structural protections and a shorter duration at a time when investors are facing high volatility and higher interest rates for longer. Legal sector receivables, likewise, represent a consolidated market worldwide with a profitability dynamic that, essentially, is not correlated with general macroeconomic cycles. VPC has nearly twenty years of deep experience in these areas, and we look forward to extending this capability to investors across the EMEA region.
