JP Morgan Asset Management has introduced a new addition to its lineup, the JPMorgan Liquidity Funds – EUR Government CNAV fund, tailored for investors keen on exposure to euro-denominated government debt within the short-term public debt space.
The fund is designed to invest in a range of short-term debt instruments issued by governments in the eurozone, encompassing government bonds, treasury bills, and other money market instruments. Additionally, it will utilize reverse repurchase agreements (RRPs), with these agreements backed by euro-denominated government debt securities.
This offering caters to both retail and institutional investors, offering different share classes to suit varying investment needs. The fund will be overseen by seasoned professionals Joe McConnell and Ian Crossman.
McConnell brings extensive experience to the table, serving as the head of the London liquidity desk at JP Morgan since 1995. His background includes a stint as a fixed income trader for Chase Asset Management, adding depth to his expertise in managing liquidity-focused strategies.
Crossman, on the other hand, serves as a portfolio manager within the Global Liquidity team in London, specializing in euro and sterling-dominated money market funds. With over a decade of experience at JP Morgan Asset Management, he has previously held roles within the firm's Treasury management department, further enhancing his proficiency in money market trading.
The launch of the JPMorgan Liquidity Funds – EUR Government CNAV fund underscores JP Morgan Asset Management's commitment to offering tailored solutions to meet investors' evolving needs, particularly in navigating the euro-denominated government debt landscape within the short-term public debt sector.
The move to launch a new market fund comes on the back of growing investment demand for a money market funds focused on government rather than bank-issued short-term debt.
Our EUR Government CNAV fund is likely to appeal to investors seeking an alternative to cash deposits for their medium-term or temporary cash investments, including seasonal operating cash or the liquidity components of investment portfolios.
