Nordea AM is celebrating the third anniversary of the Nordea 1 – Global Impact Fund, an innovative solution classified as Article 9 by the SFDR dedicated to impact investing.
Launched in July 2021*, the Nordea 1 – Global Impact Fund is a global equity solution classified as article 9 by the European SFDR regulation with more than 200 million euros in assets under management, which integrates both the environmental and social dimensions of sustainability.
The foundations of the fund are based on industrial level impact principles and NAM's own impact framework, with the aim of creating real impact in the world while achieving attractive returns. Thus, the Fund adheres to three fundamental principles: the intentionality of companies to contribute to ESG outcomes, the additionality provided by active ownership and capital allocation, and the measurement of the positive and negative externalities they generate on the planet and humanity.
The fund managers, Thomas Sørensen and Henning Padberg, began their responsible investment journey in 2008 with the launch of the renowned Nordea 1 – Global Climate and Environment Fund, one of the largest Article 9 funds in Europe, focused on investing in companies that offer economically viable climate and environmental solutions.
In 2021, they expanded their scope towards impact investing with the launch of the Nordea 1 – Global Impact Fund. In addition to the management team, the fund has integrated impact analysts who work hand in hand with the investment team, as well as with NAM's Responsible Investments team, one of the longest-standing in Europe.
Nordea AM celebrates the anniversary of the Nordea 1 – Global Impact Fund while welcoming two new impact investing strategies within fixed income: Nordea 1 – European Sustainable Labelled Bond Fund and Nordea 1 – European Corporate Sustainable Labelled Bond Fund. These solutions adhere to NAM's high ESG standards and generate real impact.
Our goal is clear: to invest in businesses that align purpose with profitability. We are dedicated to identifying companies that offer environmental and social innovations, scale proven technologies, and promote the global adoption of effective solutions. Our framework for analyzing impact carries out exhaustive measurements to ensure that the companies we invest in are well positioned to achieve a more sustainable future.
