Pictet Asset Management has appointed Alfred Le Léon as ETF distribution director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), a newly created position with which the manager seeks to support the deployment of its recent offer of exchange-traded funds in Europe.
The incorporation comes after the launch, on July 1 of this year, of its first European range of actively managed indexed ETFs enhanced with artificial intelligence.
Alfred Le Léon joins Pictet AM from J.P. Morgan, where he served for almost eight years as ETF distribution director for France, Benelux and the French-speaking region of Switzerland. Previously, he began his professional career in 2010 as an ETF specialist at HSBC and Deutsche Bank.
The new manager holds a master's degree in international economics and finance from the University of Bordeaux and will report to Malick Badjie, co-global head of sales at Pictet Asset Management.
The appointment coincides with Pictet AM's entry into the European ETF market with a first range of actively managed indexed vehicles enhanced by artificial intelligence. According to the firm, this offer expands its quantitative investment capabilities within the UCITS regulatory framework.
The new range consists of the ETFs PQWD, PQWX, PQUS and PQEU. The four products are listed on XETRA, Borsa Italiana, Euronext and the London Stock Exchange (LSE), which strengthens their reach among European investors.
We are delighted to welcome Alfred at an exciting time for our ETF business in Europe. He brings over 15 years of experience in ETF distribution, with a proven track record of expanding ETF platforms in European markets. His experience will be crucial to accelerate the growth of our ETF franchise and expand investor access to our range of AI-enhanced actively managed ETFs.
