Schroders Capital has achieved a significant milestone in fundraising. The firm has raised over 2.6 billion dollars for direct investments and co-investments in private equity since January 2022. This figure has been recently boosted by the successful closing of 400 million euros from one of its main European buyout funds, the Schroders Capital Private Equity Europe Direct III.
This achievement reinforces Schroders Capital's position as a key participant in acquisitions of small and medium-sized companies that, crucially, have provided solid returns to our clients.
The Europe Direct III fund has garnered the firm support of a diverse group of investors globally, including both existing and new investors, and spanning pension funds, insurers, endowments, foundations and family offices.
The fund has experienced strong momentum in fundraising thanks to the increasing number of clients seeking to benefit from the high growth potential of European SMEs. Schroders Capital's investment approach, successfully applied for over two decades, focuses on transforming companies with low financial leverage. In the last nine months Schroders Capital has successfully sold PSS (UK), Olink (Sweden) and Intellera (Italy) and has generated total profits of over 8 times the capital invested.
Schroders Capital benefits from global coverage and has diversified teams in strategic locations. Leveraging its diverse investment opportunities, the company offers an attractive portfolio that extends across different geographies.
We are very grateful for the constant trust and support of our clients. The successful closing of Europe Direct III is a testament to our team's dedication and their experience in creating value for our investors. We are pleased with the growth of direct investments and co-investments. Our strong track record, industry experience and global reach position us to continue offering attractive investment opportunities to our clients.
Richard Damming, Head of European Private Equity Investments at Schroders Capital
