Schroders announced today the launch of its offering of actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETF) in Europe. Thus, the Schroder ETFs ICAV - Schroder Global Equity Active UCITS ETF will increase the accessibility of Schroders' QEP Global Core strategy, valued at 24 billion dollars. In addition, the Schroder ETFs ICAV - Schroder Global Investment Grade Corporate Bond Active UCITS ETF will increase the availability of the strategy that uses fundamental analysis combined with systematic tools to improve investor returns. Previously this strategy with over 3 billion under management was only available through segregated mandates.
This launch is based on Schroders' experience in ETFs in the United States and Australia, and aims to provide broader global access to its expertise in the active management market through an ETF format.
These first two ETFs are designed to complement Schroders' existing product range and provide investors with additional means to access investment from one of the leading firms in active management at a competitive price.
The Schroder ETFs ICAV - Schroder Global Equity Active UCITS ETF will be listed on XETRA Deutsche Borse from Friday, September 26, and will soon be joined by the Schroder ETFs ICAV - Schroder Global Investment Grade Corporate Bond Active UCITS ETF. These listings will be followed by others on the London Stock Exchange, the Borsa Italiana and the SIX Swiss Exchange.
Schroders launched its first active ETFs in Australia in 2016, before launching its first active ETF with its American partner Hartford Funds in 2018.
For the first time Schroders brings its over 220 years of active investment experience to active ETF funds in Europe. We leverage our experience offering active ETFs in Australia and the U.S. for a decade so that two of our strategies, one equity and one fixed income, reach a wider audience, through the ETF format. In today's dynamic market environment, having access to the expertise of a leading active management firm is key. These launches will allow our clients to benefit from the flexibility and accessibility of an ETF fund, as well as the potentially higher returns offered by active investment.
Johanna Kyrklund, Investment Director of Schroders Group
This key milestone demonstrates our ability to leverage the magnitude of Schroders' investment and operations platforms in order to improve the distribution of these products for current and new clients. This allows us to offer our expertise in active investment in a new format. The launch of our active European ETFs will allow us to reach more investors and further strengthen our commitment to move at the right pace and offer the variety of investment tools and differential returns that our clients demand.
