Vanguard appoints Rachel Baxter as Head of Investment Management for Europe

Vanguard has announced today the appointment of Rachel Baxter as the new head of investment management for Europe, in a move that strengthens the direction of one of its main business areas in the region.
From London, the executive will assume the supervision of the investment management of the firm's European business.
New leadership for the European investment platform
In her new role, Baxter will be at the forefront of key functions such as portfolio management, investment analysis, capital markets, and trading. In addition, she will lead the European fixed income index team.
Vanguard's investment management area in Europe oversees approximately $615,000 million in assets domiciled in the UK and Europe, which places this appointment as a relevant decision within the structure of the manager in the region.
Baxter succeeds Geoff Parish in the position, who will return to the United States to assume global responsibility for fixed income indexing.
Career with a focus on fixed income and indexing
Rachel Baxter has extensive experience in portfolio management within Vanguard. Prior to this appointment, she held the position of co-head of the US fixed income index team, where she performed senior leadership responsibilities over a multidisciplinary platform that oversaw more than $1.4 trillion in assets under management through mutual funds, ETFs, and fund of funds.
Previously, she also worked as a portfolio manager in Vanguard's global fixed income index team. Her career at the firm also includes roles linked to the global fixed income investment strategy, portfolio construction, and European credit analysis, a profile that strengthens her technical knowledge and experience to lead the entity's investment business in Europe.
