In recent years, cryptocurrencies have gained an increasingly relevant role in the global financial landscape, attracting the interest of both retail and institutional investors. The adoption of cryptocurrency ETFs by institutional investors is constantly growing, signaling a greater maturity of the sector. At the same time, the regulatory context is undergoing profound changes: in Europe, the recent approval of the MiCA law aims to provide greater legal security for issuers and providers of crypto-assets, while in the United States the return of Donald Trump to the White House could mark a turning point, with his promise to deregulate the sector and even explore state reserves in cryptocurrencies.
To delve into these issues and better understand the role of ETFs in the world of cryptocurrencies, today we have the pleasure of interviewing André Dragosch, Director and Head of Research Europe at Bitwise Asset Management, the largest US manager of cryptocurrency index funds.
In this conversation we will explore the investment philosophy of Bitwise AM, the growing interest of European institutional investors in digital assets and the challenges the sector must face, including regulation, risk management and environmental impact. In addition, we will discuss very current issues, such as the recent approval of the MiCA regulation in Europe and the possible implications of US policy on cryptocurrencies.
