HSBC announced today the appointment of Alfonso Gómez as the new CEO of HSBC Swiss Private Bank —HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA— and Country Head of HSBC Switzerland, effective from April 27, 2026.
Gómez succeeds Daniel Calado, who held the position on an interim basis. After the handover, Calado will resume his position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of HSBC Private Bank Switzerland and EMEA, in addition to continuing as a member of the executive committee.
With three decades of experience in Swiss and international wealth management, Alfonso Gómez joins HSBC after more than twelve years as CEO of BBVA Switzerland, having developed his career in New York, London, Madrid, and Zurich. He will reside in Geneva and report directly to Ida Liu, CEO of HSBC Private Bank.
