Altaroc, one of Europe's leading private equity investment specialists, has announced the opening of its office in Germany. Following the launch of operations in Switzerland and, more recently, in Italy with the opening of its Milan branch, this expansion marks a new milestone in the firm's European development and confirms its ambition to strengthen its presence across major wealth management markets.
Founded in 2021 by Maurice Tchenio and Frédéric Stolar, Altaroc has raised over €2 billion. The firm provides access to a selection of top-tier international managers through private equity solutions aligned with institutional investor standards. Through its portfolios, Altaroc already finances more than 600 companies worldwide, including around thirty German firms – reflecting its commitment to innovation and the development of the real economy.
At a time when investors are seeking sources of return uncorrelated to listed markets, Germany is emerging as one of Europe's most strategic markets for private equity development among private investors. As the European Union's largest economy, the country holds an estimated €20 trillion in private wealth, still largely held in cash and bank deposits – and therefore structurally underexposed to private markets.
This potential, combined with one of Europe's most developed networks of private banks, family offices and financial advisors, makes Germany a particularly attractive market for institutional-grade private equity offerings.
Germany is a key market for private wealth management in Europe. Our comprehensive range allows us to meet the diverse expectations of private clients, drawing on proven institutional methods and a rigorous discipline in selecting top international managers. This presence marks a fundamental milestone in Altaroc's European development.

To support this new phase, Altaroc has appointed Djamina Grimm as Head of the German and Austrian market. With over twenty years of experience in financial services and investment solutions distribution, she has held senior commercial and managerial roles at Franklin Templeton and, subsequently, at DekaBank, where she led sales teams dedicated to the German market. She brings deep knowledge of local distribution networks – private banks, savings banks, independent financial advisors and family offices – as well as the specific expectations of German wealthy clients.
German private investors and their advisors are now seeking to diversify their portfolios beyond listed markets. Our ambition is to offer them, in a rigorous and educational framework, access to the same private equity strategies that benefit major institutional investors.

As private equity continues to establish itself as an essential component of long-term portfolio allocation, Altaroc continues its European expansion with a clear goal: to make institutional-quality, diversified private equity investment accessible to private investors, built on the highest standards of manager selection, portfolio construction and long-term investment discipline.
