Capital Group has launched a UK-domiciled Open-Ended Investment Company (OEIC) version of its flagship New Perspective Fund. This move gives UK investors increased access to global equity markets, leveraging a proven strategy that has been in place since 1973 and currently manages £141 billion in assets. The fund is designed to capitalize on long-term transformational changes in the global economy.
The New Perspective Fund focuses on multinational companies poised to benefit from global growth trends. Using a bottom-up investment approach, the fund seeks opportunities across various sectors and geographies, aiming to navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving economic landscape. A recent survey by Capital Group found that 71% of professional investors favor multinational companies for their strong growth prospects over the next decade.
In this new era, investment strategies like New Perspective offer the flexibility to navigate market shifts unrestricted by sector, theme, or style, to capture a broad opportunity set and the new reality of investing.
Steve Smith, Equity Investment Director at Capital Group
Chris Miles, Head of UK Financial Intermediaries at Capital Group, highlighted the need for robust equity strategies that can perform across market cycles. Research from Capital Group shows that 70% of UK intermediaries struggle to find equity funds capable of withstanding periods of uncertainty. Miles added,
At Capital Group, we are dedicated to ensuring UK intermediaries have access to durable, time-tested investment strategies in their quest to achieve their clients' long-term financial goals, and we believe the launch of New Perspective OEIC fund, based on a strategy with a 51-year history, could fill that gap.
