Comgest has announced the appointment of Bassel Choughari as a portfolio manager and analyst, further enhancing its expertise in European equities. Choughari brings with him over a decade of experience across leading financial institutions in both London and Paris.
Extensive Experience Across European and International Markets
Bassel Choughari began his career on the sell-side, working as a financial analyst at RBS (2010–2012) and Berenberg(2012–2015) in London. He transitioned to the buy-side in 2015, joining Syz Asset Management as a European equity analyst, where he continued to operate out of the UK.
In 2019, he moved to Montpensier Finance in Paris, where he managed both European and international equity portfolios. His time at Montpensier coincided with the firm's strategic alignment with Arbevel, further broadening his exposure to continental markets.
Academic Background Rooted in Finance and Banking
Choughari holds a Magistère in Banking and Finance and a postgraduate diploma (DESS) in Financial and Banking Techniques from the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas, one of France’s most prestigious academic institutions.
His appointment at Comgest aligns with the firm's ongoing commitment to long-term, quality growth investing, particularly in the European equity space.
