Man Group takes the leap into Europe’s listed market: the asset manager announced today, November 4, the launch of its first UCITS ETFs, two active strategies aimed at wealth investors.
Mark Bedford, Global Head of Wealth at Man Group, describes the launches as a first step toward expanding across the continent. The firm manages $270.9 billion (as of September 30, 2026) and has had a range of ETFs in the U.S. since late 2025.
The Man Active Trend Enhanced UCITS ETF (tickers MATE and MAET) is a systematic strategy that combines broad exposure to global equities, benchmarked against the MSCI World Index, with a quantitative trend-following overlay across global futures markets.
It seeks capital growth over the medium to long term, capturing upside potential while systematically seeking to mitigate downturns across different market regimes. Its lead portfolio managers are Russell Korgaonkar and Giuliana Bordigoni.
The Man Active Global Infrastructure UCITS ETF (tickers MGIN and MGIM) is managed by Al Chu and provides exposure to listed global infrastructure companies, with the aim of achieving long-term capital growth. It will follow the same investment philosophy and process as the firm’s existing global listed infrastructure strategy.
Both funds are listed on the London Stock Exchange in pounds and U.S. dollars, and on Euronext Milan and Xetra in euros. They are UCITS ETFs authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland.
The European launch builds on the range of ETFs that Man Group has rolled out in the U.S. since late 2025, featuring active strategies in credit, equities and alternatives.
The asset manager is thus joining firms bringing active management to the listed format, such as Fidelity, which in September expanded its active ETF range with a new U.S. growth fund.
Man Group sees these launches as the foundation for a broader European presence. Bedford notes that the strategies draw on the same expertise that its institutional clients have backed for decades, including more than 35 years of trend-following models.
With our first UCITS ETFs, we are giving wealth investors in Europe access to active strategies based on the same investment expertise that our institutional clients have relied on for decades. These launches are a first step and a foundation on which we intend to grow our presence in Europe. Whether it is the sophistication of our trend-following models, refined over more than 35 years, or our disciplined approach to infrastructure investing, we believe these strategies offer European investors something distinctive: institutional rigor in an ETF, built with them in mind.
