Vontobel expands its fixed income range with a high-quality global credit strategy, the Vontobel Fund – Credit Opportunities Investment Grade.
The fund, managed by Kai Hirschlein, the firm’s portfolio manager, brings the Credit Opportunities approach to the investment-grade space. The launch comes from an asset manager that, as of June 30, 2026, managed CHF 240.7 billion in assets.
The fund invests globally in investment-grade issuers and seeks to capitalize on relative value opportunities in senior and subordinated debt.
Although investments are primarily limited to investment-grade issuers, the strategy may selectively invest in subordinated instruments rated below investment grade. This gives the investment team flexibility across issuers’ capital structures while maintaining its focus on high-quality credit.
The new fund builds on Vontobel’s established Credit Opportunities approach and responds to client demand for a solution that combines a focus on investment-grade issuers with the flexibility and active management at the core of the existing strategy.
With this strategy, we are extending an approach that has proven successful into the investment-grade space, offering clients a more conservative way to access global credit markets by capitalizing on relative value opportunities, while maintaining rigorous risk discipline.
