Pictet AM has announced today the expansion of its range of thematic equity strategies with the launch of Pictet-Longevity, a UCITS fund domiciled in Luxembourg, with daily valuation and liquidity, registered in Spain and transferable without fiscal toll.
The new strategy joins the firm's 15 global active management thematic portfolios, which together manage 72,000 million dollars, and arrives on the 30th anniversary of its first thematic strategy, reaffirming its leadership and innovative drive in this area.
Pictet-Longevity focuses on capitalizing on opportunities arising from the profound demographic change that many societies are undergoing. As the oldest members of the baby boomer generation reach 80 years of age, their health needs significantly increase. At the same time, the retirement of younger generations and falling birth rates are contracting the workforce and raising dependency rates.
This context, driven by demographic and technological transformations, is generating a growing demand for innovative solutions in health and productivity: from health advances that improve the quality and years of healthy life, to technologies that increase labor efficiency to counteract the shortage of workers. This is an expanding global market, valued at $3.5 trillion, with a potential annual compound growth of 9%.
The strategy is born from the merger of the Health and Human strategies, and is based on megatrends —social, environmental, technological and geopolitical changes as a source of long-term growth—, a common axis of Pictet AM's thematic equity portfolios.
Pictet-Longevity is articulated in two key areas:
The fund has a specialized team led by senior managers Grégoire Biollaz, PhD, and Moritz Dullinger, CFA, CAIA, along with Dominique Lachal, CFA, and specialist Gillian Diesen, CAIA. The team relies on Pictet AM's global analysis and a thematic investment process perfected over more than three decades.
Pictet-Longevity is subject to UCITS regulations and is governed by Article 8 of the European SFDR Regulation.
By integrating our experience with Health and Human in Pictet-Longevity we can take advantage of the opportunities posed by the changes in modern society. Through this strategy we invest in companies at the forefront of innovation, capable of providing sustainable returns for our investors.
