Robeco has officially announced the appointment of Anton Eser as the new Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and member of the company's Executive Committee, effective from September 1, 2025. Eser will succeed Mark van der Kroft, who will retire the following month, on October 1, 2025, after a long career in the company that began in 2000 and culminated in the role of CIO from 2020.
Anton brings with him a wealth of global experience and a proven track record in leading diversified investment strategies. His deep expertise aligns perfectly with our strategic ambitions. We are excited about the innovative ideas he will bring to our investment platform and we are confident that he will play a key role in driving the continued growth of our company.
Karin van Baardwijk, Chief Executive Officer of Robeco
During his 13 years at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), Eser played a crucial role in transforming the company from a UK-focused operator to a global asset manager, with over 1,500 billion dollars under management. Appointed CIO in 2016, he led a team of 350 professionals engaged in strategies ranging from indexed to active, including global equities, multi-asset and bonds.
Eser also distinguished himself for the integration of ESG criteria into investment processes and for the creation of the Future World fund range, oriented towards sustainability. Since 2021, he has been CIO of 10X Investments, a growing South African fintech, where he continued to focus on multi-asset solutions. His career began in the bond markets at Aegon UK, before moving on to LGIM, where he founded and led the global credit division and later assumed the role of Co-Head of Global Fixed Income.
