Schroders Capital, the $97.3 billion private markets division of Schroders, has appointed Vikram Bhandari as Head and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Schroders Capital Solutions. This newly created role reflects the firm’s commitment to expanding its private markets solutions capabilities and strengthening its global presence.
Bhandari, who will be based in London, reports to Ingo Heinen, Global Head of Business Development and Product. His appointment is expected to drive business growth and enhance Schroders Capital’s ability to deliver customized private market strategies to institutional and wealth clients worldwide.
Bhandari joins Schroders Capital after seven years at BlackRock, where he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager and was instrumental in expanding the Multi-Alternatives Private Markets Solutions business across EMEA. His experience includes working with pensions, insurance firms, sovereigns, family offices, and wealth managers, providing tailored private markets exposure across multiple asset classes.
Schroders Capital Solutions will focus on developing and managing multi-asset private markets solutions, catering to the growing demand from defined benefit and defined contribution pensions, insurance companies, and wealth clients. The firm’s private markets platform already spans private equity, infrastructure, real estate, and private debt, offering clients a diversified investment approach.
We help our clients build customised exposures across the private markets spectrum. This capability epitomises our client centricity and is a key part of our differentiated pan-private markets solutions offering. Vikram's leadership will allow us to further leverage the capabilities at Schroders Capital Solutions and deliver even more to our growing global client base.
Ingo Heinen, Global Head of Business Development & Product, Schroders Capital
Bhandari emphasized the evolving private markets landscape and the increasing demand for diversified, innovative investment solutions, particularly as regulatory changes open up new structures for investors.
Schroders Capital has an impressive track-record in delivering these innovative private markets solutions to institutional, DC and now wealth clients, which is testament to its focus on putting the client first. I look forward to building on this momentum, expanding our global presence and client outreach, and helping to drive the next phase of growth.
