CoinShares launches a physical Zcash ETP, bringing regulated exposure to privacy-focused ZEC

The new ETP offers institutional-grade, direct exposure to ZEC, a digital asset that allows investors to keep their holdings confidential.

CoinShares is widening its range of physical crypto ETPs with a product dedicated to Zcash, one of the most established projects in digital assets, with a market capitalisation of more than $20 billion.

The digital asset manager (Nasdaq: CSHR) announced today, 28 October 2026, the launch of CoinShares Zcash ETP (ticker: ZCSH), which offers regulated exposure to ZEC, the native token of the Zcash layer-1 blockchain.

A Bitcoin fork built around confidentiality

Launched in 2016 as a fork of Bitcoin's code, Zcash keeps its core infrastructure: a hard cap of 21 million units, proof of work and a four-year halving cycle.

On top of that, it gives investors who choose it the option of keeping their holdings confidential. This relies on zero-knowledge proofs, a cryptographic mechanism that verifies a transaction is valid without revealing its content.

Closing the access gap for ZEC

Despite combining robustness, privacy and verifiability, ZEC is still thinly distributed relative to its market size, according to CoinShares. The new ETP, listed initially on Euronext Paris and traded in euros, aims to close that gap by letting investors access the cryptocurrency in a regulated, institutional and direct way, without having to manage wallets or private keys.

Investment confidentiality is one of the most frequently repeated demands in finance and, at the same time, one of the most complex to deliver on a public blockchain.
