Morgan Stanley IM has announced the launch of the Morgan Stanley European Private Income Fund (EPIF), a strategy that offers the opportunity to access the European private debt market in a semi-liquid format.
EPIF aims to create a diversified portfolio of senior loans to middle market European companies with leadership positions in their respective sectors, high entry barriers and solid management teams, which are well positioned to generate robust and stable free cash flows. In order to provide greater liquidity to investors, it is expected that approximately 10% of EPIF's capital will be invested in syndicated loans. In addition, the fund will promote certain environmental and/or social characteristics in accordance with Article 8 of the European SFDR regulation.
The fund will seek to leverage the strength and experience of Morgan Stanley's Private Credit platform. Investors will be able to make monthly subscriptions and benefit from both anticipated monthly income distributions and quarterly liquidity, after a one-year lock-up period, subject to a 5% fund-level redemption limitation per quarter and other restrictions.
We are pleased to offer our clients the opportunity to access the European private debt market, which we believe, offers the potential for attractive risk-adjusted returns. The investment philosophy provides investors with exposure to a growing asset class, while leveraging the deep operational experience offered by our global Morgan Stanley Private Credit platform.
