Insight Investment, a leading specialist in fixed income and liability-driven investments (LDI), has appointed Raman Srivastava as its next chief executive. Srivastava will succeed Abdallah Nauphal, who has led the firm for over 20 years, including 17 years as CEO. Nauphal is set to retire in the first half of 2025, following a transformative period for the company.
Srivastava joins Insight from Great-West Lifeco, where he served as Global Chief Investment Officer. He brings over 25 years of experience in the investment industry and has held several senior leadership roles across asset management and insurance sectors. Srivastava's extensive experience in capital markets, strategic initiatives, and board leadership positions will be pivotal as he steers Insight through its next phase of growth.
Nauphal, who joined Insight in 2003 as Chief Investment Officer and became CEO in 2007, has overseen the firm’s remarkable growth. Under his leadership, assets under management (AUM) surged from £75 billion to £665 billion, and its institutional client base expanded tenfold. Nauphal's decision to retire follows his successful stewardship of the firm, which was acquired by BNY Mellon in 2009.
It is still hard to imagine leaving a business that has been such a large part of my life for so long and I am exceptionally proud of what we have achieved.
Having been heavily involved in the process to select a suitable successor over the last year, I know that the business will be in safe hands under Raman’s leadership.
Abdallah Nauphal
In his new role, Raman Srivastava will report to Jose Minaya, BNY’s Global Head of Investments and Wealth.
I would like to thank Abdallah for his many achievements as CEO, providing the strategic direction which has shaped Insight to become the world-class investment manager that it is today. I would also like to congratulate Raman on his appointment to lead Insight in the next exciting phase of its growth strategy.
Jose Minaya, BNY’s Global Head of Investments and Wealth.
Nauphal’s departure, along with other recent leadership changes at BNY Mellon, marks a significant transition for Insight Investment as it embarks on its next chapter of growth and success.
