The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Marcus Chromik as the new Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and member of the Board of Directors, effective from May 20, 2025. Chromik will take over from Olivier Vigneron, who will leave the bank at the end of his term, on May 19, 2025.
To ensure a smooth transition, Chromik will join the Board of Directors as early as May 1, 2025, before assuming full responsibility for the risk management function
Marcus Chromik brings with him extensive experience, gained in over two decades of managerial roles in the banking sector, with a specific focus on risk management. Between 2016 and 2023, he served as Chief Risk Officer at Commerzbank and, more recently, he was a member of the Board of Directors of UniCredit as a non-executive member.
His career began in 2004 at Postbank, and since then Chromik has built a solid reputation as an expert in his field. A graduate in physics with a doctorate in nuclear physics, he is a highly qualified and versatile figure, capable of facing the challenges of an ever-evolving economic and financial landscape.
