MUFG EMEA strengthens its strategy in digital infrastructure with a regional coverage role, designed to follow EMEA area customers regardless of the country in which they operate. The Japanese bank has appointed Bénédicte de Giafferri as Managing Director and Head of Digital Infrastructure Coverage for the EMEA area, based in Paris.
The manager, with over 25 years of experience in the banking sector and in infrastructure financing, comes from Natixis and takes up her post from today, September 1, 2026.
The newly created role is born with an explicitly regional mandate: to follow customers active in digital infrastructure throughout the EMEA area, regardless of the country in which they operate. MUFG conducted the selection on a regional scale before identifying the most suitable profile to lead the business.
This role was conceived with an authentically regional mandate, with the aim of supporting customers active in the digital infrastructure sector throughout the EMEA area, regardless of the country in which they operate. Consistent with this approach, we conducted the search on a regional scale to identify the most suitable profile to lead the business and Bénédicte stood out clearly as the ideal candidate.
Genoveva Ramon-Borja, Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking EU Platform and Corporate Coverage, MUFG
As part of MUFG's EMEA coverage, Bénédicte de Giafferri will support customers in diversifying the sources of financing for a sector that is evolving from traditional project financing towards corporate and securitization structures. She will work in close coordination with the teams in the United States and Asia-Pacific.
De Giafferri has spent the last 16 years at Natixis, where in the last five she has led the global origination teams in the Real Assets sector. Previously, she held various positions at the European Investment Bank and Dexia Crédit Local. Locally, she will report to Genoveva Ramon-Borja and, functionally, to Holly Villiers.
I am pleased to join MUFG at such an important stage for both the bank and the digital infrastructure sector [...] I am eager to collaborate with colleagues from the EMEA area, the United States and Asia-Pacific to enhance MUFG's strong presence in the sector and support clients in pursuing their strategic objectives in this rapidly expanding compartment.
