Prudential Financial, Inc. has named Jacques Chappuis as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of PGIM, the company’s $1.4 trillion global investment management business. Chappuis, currently co-head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, will officially assume the role on May 1, 2025. David Hunt, PGIM’s outgoing CEO, will stay on as chairman until July 31, 2025, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
David Hunt’s 13-year tenure as PGIM’s CEO has been marked by impressive growth and expansion. Since joining PGIM in 2011, Hunt has led the firm’s assets under management from $619 billion to $1.4 trillion. He also spearheaded international expansion into key markets, including the U.K., Europe, and Japan, and integrated new capabilities such as private equity secondaries and private credit. Hunt’s contributions to the firm’s culture earned PGIM recognition as a “Best Place to Work in Money Management” by Pensions & Investments for multiple years. Andrew Sullivan, head of International Businesses and Global Investment Management at Prudential, praised Hunt’s leadership, stating, “David has overseen PGIM’s impressive expansion and leaves an indelible impression on PGIM’s legacy.”
With nearly three decades of investment management experience, Jacques Chappuis brings a wealth of expertise in both public and private markets. During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, Chappuis played a pivotal role in the successful integration of Eaton Vance, enhancing the firm’s capabilities. Sullivan noted that Chappuis’s client focus, acquisition experience, and public and private market expertise make him the ideal leader to guide PGIM’s future growth.
Jacques is well known for his deep commitment to clients, his leadership in acquisitions, and breadth of expertise across public and private market solutions. We know that he is the right person to lead PGIM’s next chapter of growth.
Over the last decade, PGIM has meaningfully expanded its third-party asset management business. Jacques’ expertise will allow us to identify opportunities to accelerate our continued growth through new markets, innovative products, and comprehensive solutions across a wide range of asset classes. I look forward to working with Jacques to lead one of the key growth engines of Prudential.

He holds a B.A. in finance from Tulane University and an MBA from Columbia Business School and serves on advisory boards for Teach For America and the Puerto Rico-based think tank Centro para la Nueva Economia. His appointment is expected to drive PGIM’s continued growth through expanded market reach, new products, and comprehensive solutions across a diverse range of asset classes.
I’m proud to become PGIM’s next president and CEO, leading an incredible team through its next chapter of growth,” said Chappuis. “PGIM’s expertise and capabilities across public and private markets reinforces its commitment to meeting clients’ differentiated long-term investment needs, and I look forward to building upon the firm’s successes.
