Finserve Global Security Fund has announced the incorporation of Lieutenant General (retired) Ben Hodges, former Chief Commander of the United States Army in Europe, with the aim of strengthening the fund's strategic advisory capabilities in geopolitics and security.
With over 30 years of experience in high military commands and in the field of transatlantic security, General Hodges brings an exceptional vision in the analysis of geopolitical risks and long-term security trends.
In his new role, he will provide independent strategic analysis on the evolution of defense alliances, geopolitical developments and the evaluation of key sectors. His contributions will support the team in assessing long-term capability needs and positioning of companies within the security ecosystem, helping to guide portfolio allocation in the defense, cybersecurity and space sectors.
General Hodges will work closely with the Chairman of the Advisory Council, Lieutenant General (retired) Karl Engelbrektson, former Chief of the Swedish Army and former military representative of Sweden to NATO and the EU, as well as with the fund's main manager, Joakim Agerback.
As Chief Commander of the United States Army in Europe, General Hodges led US ground forces on the continent and played a central role in strengthening deterrence, military mobility and NATO readiness in the post-Crimea security environment. His experience spans allied interoperability, logistics, rapid reinforcement and host nation support, capabilities that remain fundamental to European security.
Ben Hodges brings strategic clarity, great credibility and a unique ability to analyze the transatlantic rebalancing and its evolution. His deep understanding of deterrence, military readiness and geopolitical risks enhances our ability to interpret security events from a long-term investment perspective.
Karl Engelbrektson, retired lieutenant general and former chief of the Swedish Army
The investment decisions made today will shape the defense capabilities and deterrence posture of tomorrow. I hope to contribute my strategic knowledge to help identify the companies and technologies that will support long-term security and stability.

We are witnessing a rapid development of new defense capabilities, as well as an increasing relevance of their integration with traditional military systems and command and control structures. Ben Hodges provides a unique vision to assess these capabilities, the involved providers and the evolution of supply chains. This adds a differentiating and highly valuable dimension to our investment process.
