Thierry Chesneau, new president of La Financière Responsable

The French manager La Financière Responsable (LFR), in which Mapfre has been present since 2017 and has been majority shareholder since February 2023, has appointed Thierry Chesneau as president, following the retirement of its current president and co-founder, Olivier Johanet, who will remain a shareholder and member of the Governance Board.
Thierry Chesneau brings over 25 years of experience in the financial sector, mainly in commercial and development management, and holds an Executive MBA from the HEC business school. Chesneau was one of the founding partners of the OLIFAN Group, where he worked between 2014 and 2023, and previously, he held the positions of senior banker, quality director and compliance secretary of the Natixis Group.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Olivier Johanet for all his years as president of LFR and for his collaboration in this business venture, which began in 2008. I am delighted that he continues to support us as a shareholder in this new stage, and I want to thank him for the trust he has placed in our teams and projects. We want to welcome Thierry Chesneau, the new president of LFR, a recognized professional whom I have known since 2017. His arrival at La Financière Responsable will undoubtedly support the development of our strategic activities in favor of SRI, serving our customers and partners.

A new stage opens for La Financière Responsable, which allows MAPFRE, present in the capital since 2017 and majority shareholder since February 2023, to become more involved in the future of the company. We wanted to do it since we allied with MAPFRE a few years ago. The work is already done, and for that reason, I believe it is time to pass the baton to MAPFRE and the current LFR team, which has been strengthened with the arrival of a new professional and experienced president.

I have known and practiced the values and entrepreneurial spirit of the founders of La Financière Responsable, Stéphane and Olivier, and their main shareholder, MAPFRE, for several years. At the end of 2023, they asked me to take over the management of this subsidiary and I immediately accepted.
